Peter maintains an active pro bono practice focused on advancing human rights and civil liberties, including:

• Amicus briefs in the U.S. Supreme Court supporting protections for sexual orientation and gender identity under Title VII (Bostock and related cases).
• Amicus brief in the European Court of Human Rights supporting recognition of the rights of same‑sex couples (Coman and Others v. Romania).
• Successful representation of refugee applicants from Mexico, Haiti, and Egypt in affirmative and defensive asylum matters.
• Amicus briefing before the Ninth Circuit on protections against mental torture and before the U.S. Supreme Court advocating due‑process protections in immigration detention.
• Amicus briefing before the Illinois Supreme Court supporting enhanced protections for domestic‑violence victims, and before the Fourth Circuit and U.S. Supreme Court advancing gender‑identity rights in schools.
