Heidi Jeffery is a partner and business lawyer with 番茄社区; Lardner LLP. Heidi focuses her practice on the representation of borrowers in sophisticated financing transactions and loan workouts. Heidi is a member of the firm鈥檚 Finance & Financial Institutions Practice. She is also a member of the firm鈥檚 Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) Team; the Health Care Finance; and the Public Finance Practices as well as the Health Care Industry Team.

Heidi also frequently represents broker-dealers in connection with municipal securities compliance matters. In addition, Heidi has experience representing banks in general lending transactions, including both secured and unsecured commercial loans. In the ESG space, she helps governmental and nonprofit clients determine policies to implement and understand what investors focus on and consider relevant.

  • Disclosure counsel to various Illinois municipal issuers
  • Co-Underwriter鈥檚 Counsel on The Bond Buyer鈥檚 2012 Deal of the Year: Michigan Finance Authority $2.9 billion of Unemployment Obligation Assessment Revenue Bonds 鈥 the bonds were issued under recently adopted legislation utilizing an innovative structure to obtain AAA ratings from three major rating services
  • Bond counsel on housing finance authority transactions

Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act: January 1, 2022, Brings Opportunities with Two Types of Tax Exempt Bonds and Program Expansion

Specific to tax-exempt bonds, the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act modifies section 142(a) of the Internal Revenue Code (the 鈥淐ode鈥) by adding two new categories of qualified private activity bonds. The Act applies to obligations issued after December 31, 2021.
