With a historic winter storm set to encompass much of the United States, Hoffman shared that many employers will need to assess the “morale issue” and “local level” of the storm when issuing guidance to employees. She pointed out that some national employers may not realize local limitations, including some states’ lack of snow removal and deicing infrastructure.
Ahead of the storm’s arrival, Hoffman recommended employers “dust off that employee handbook” to check for an inclement weather policy.
