��������; Lardner LLP has appointed litigator Joseph Dowdy as managing partner of the firm’s Raleigh, North Carolina, office.

Dowdy is a trial and appellate lawyer with a nationwide complex litigation and arbitration practice. He successfully represents clients in North Carolina and beyond with creative solutions to complicated issues in the technology and research, energy, real estate, financial services, and consumer and retail sectors. Dowdy also serves as the North Carolina liaison for Foley’s State Attorneys General Practice Group. 

“Joe joined Foley this spring and since then has integrated himself into the firm and helped to embed Foley into the Raleigh community,” said Daljit Doogal, Foley chairman and CEO. “He has a deep understanding of the local landscape, and under his leadership we will continue to invest in this market and strengthen our services to clients, particularly in the health care, life sciences, and technology sectors.”

In his new role, Dowdy will be responsible for driving business growth and innovation, fostering talent, managing operations, and stewarding community involvement. He will work closely with the firm’s other office managing partners to ensure collaboration across Foley’s national platform and bring the firm’s network of resources to clients in the area.

Foley’s Raleigh office is among the firm’s newest locations, opening in July 2024. That work extends to transactions, restructuring, regulatory and compliance, labor and employment, risk mitigation, dispute resolution, and bet-the-company litigation.

Dowdy is one of 45 lateral partners who joined Foley since the beginning of 2024 in an unprecedented time of growth for the firm.
